Executive Summary

I chose to address the question of how to emergence student involvement. My research was based on interviews I conducted at the Lake Tahoe Community College campus February 28, 2011 to March 4, 2011. I interviewed roughly one-percent cross-sectional savor of students that I was able to built from demographic data I obtained through our college library. The interviews, a total of 35 all totakeher, asked a variety of questions regarding their involvement in domesticate clubs and organizations, with the specific intentions of finding what exactly keeps people from participating in campus clubs.

Surprisingly, there was actually little variation in the answers I received from the stick to participants, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. I found out that virtually people do see a benefit to existence a member of a campus organization.



However, the majority has never been to a club meeting and aromas that they do not have large time to commit to an organization. Also, the student body generally feels the school offers clubs that interest student but do see a few niches that could be filled by new organizations. For example, a fashion club, a firefighters club, a club for military veterans, and a club for snow sport enthusiasts.

Through my research, I was able to formulate a few recommendations to increase student involvement. Primarily, foreground the benefits the club could offer, whether they are social, professional, or academic.
