George Orwells Nineteen Eighty-Four is a dystopian novel based on a totalitarian society. My initial reaction upon reading the passage was oneness of laughter, I couldnt believe the mood that watchwords were apply in the text edition. The new expression that had been adopted in this accounting is Newspeak which had replaced the ancient way of speaking, known as Oldspeak. The Newspeak delivery was scummy down into three categories which were vocabulary; A,B, and C.
In the text Orwell writes, The A vocabulary consisted of words needed for the business of everyday carriage --- For such things as eating, drinking, working, putting on ones clothes, going up and down stairs, riding in vehicles, gardening, cooking, and the like. The language is very canonic and very minimal. One thing that surprised me about the Newspeak language is that the word free cannot be recitationd in its passkey form. Free could only be used in the sentiency of macrocosm free of something such as, The dog is free from lice or This field is free from weeds. This to me is very telling how much the politics controlled exactly just how it wants its people to speak. Most people testament find this to be quite miserable and gloomy if the word free couldnt be expressed in our language today in the same light.
Many men give up died in wars doneout history in order to assay the sweet fruits of freedom.
I previously had mentioned how I found this text to be comical in a sense because of the way words were used and also the whacky grammar. In solely seriousness this society seems terrible because of the lack of opinion that is exhibited through their spoken words. The language is designed to eliminate critical thinking as a means of certain words being incorrect through grammar; therefore, they cannot be used whatsoever. George Orwell is a paladin for his foreshadowing the society that we live in today. We still use the English language but I believe that well vocabulary is dwindling overall....If you want to get a bounteous essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
