Earthquakes ar all different in their own ways. around are big; some are small. Some do damage to entire cities; you cannot even feel others. There are temblors that can kill hundreds to thousands of people. Some earthquakes even cause rout outs. If in that location is one that stands out, it has got to be the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Not only did the earthquake cause damage by itself, but it started many fires that burn shovel in down a big portion of the city. It was one of the closely significant earthquakes in U.S history. Today, its importance comes more from the gain of scientific knowledge that took place because of it than from its sheerz size. This gigantic, destructive, and highly educational earthquake was definitely one to remember.
The San Francisco earthquake of April 18, 1906, At almost precisely 5:12 a.m. a foreshock occurred with significant force felt widely across the San Francisco Bay area. The quake broke loose not much more than 20 seconds posterior, with an epicenter near San Francisco. unwarranted shocks punctuated the strong shaking, which lasted some 45 to 60 seconds. The quake was felt from southern Oregon to south of Los Angeles and inland as furthest as central Nevada (Fradkin 52). At the time, it registered a 7.7 on the Richter scale, later they figured out it was actually 8.3.



People ran from their houses and some stayed privileged the buildings and were crushed. The people who ran in the streets were killed by toppled buildings falling from above. There fire department was efficient but the water pipes that go down the San Andreas Fault were severed. The fire could not be stopped because in that respect were now water until the next couple of days. Gas maitns blew and caused massive fires all around the city. The city was in the middle of a great economic boom and almost all was bemused on that day. The old building were never made to reject earthquakes and easily crumbled and fell crushed people.
