In Salam Rushdies novel The blamed Verses involves a written report of two custody, Saladin Chamcha and Gibreel Farishta who two are the only survivors of a hijacked bed sheet crash over the English Channel. The men are both on their way to England for different reasons. Gibreel is in search for his lover, Alleluia Cone, whilst Saladin is approach path home from an acting gig. Immediately, The fiendish verses touches on the nonions of good vs. Evil, as the narrator creates a plot of an ongoing battle between Gibreel, the angel of good, and Saladin, the devil of evil. Rushdie stresses this framework by giving these characters their metaphysical control. Not only are these two men categorised by good and evil, but the women who have influenced their lives after the skim over crash, also partake in a labelled role, in which subliminal messages are conveyed throughout the novel, insisting that the Islamic pietism stigmatizes women as evil.
